New 6+1 Magazine for XDS .45
Just bought the XDS .45 and it came with two magazines. The standard 5 round and the new 6 round +1. The magazine seats perfectly and gives you just enough room to grip the gun properly. Unlike the 7 round which makes concealment difficult this magazine is perfect. The problem is they are not yet available for purchase, they are holding them for gun purchases only. I was told however they should be available in early April. I am looking forward to purchasing a few more for carry.

Good product with some rough edges
I grabbed two to experiment with. Out of the box I noticed the edges were very sharp and unconformable in my hand. I also use the shorter back strap so the back of the extension had some sharp edge that went into my palm. With a little sand paper I was able to shape the grip to match the factory one a bit better in the back. I like the way it feels in my hand now. I also noticed the gap but I believe it is so the magazine can fully seat similar to the gap with the factory 7 round mag. Agree with the long review above - just to add that I had no feeding issues at all and although there is a small gap between the grip and the mag extension, I will add them to all my carry mags to get the extra round.

Easy to install. Got it fast. Good price. Feel better with one more round and some extra room for my grip/fingers. Recommended.

Good design, but sharp edges
Just got this extension. It works fine and was easy to install. No one else makes a +1 that I could find. The factory +2 mag seems too long and defeats the compact idea of the gun. This makes it hard to conseal and my large hands could easily fit a 6th finger it is so long. Pearce makes a finger extention that works well to get your pinky on, but it doesn't add capacity, and still leaves the bottom of your palm with no contact to help with grip or recoil. On the picky side 3 points could be improved: 1) The sharp edges hurt before I even fired the gun. Plan on spending some time with a file before going to the range. With todays modern machinery they could have made all the edges round and it would even match the gun's grip better. There is a reason heavy recoil guns have all rounded edges! 2) The finish appears glossy compared to the guns matte finish. It would be too expensive to match Springfields pebbled texture but they need to tone down the shine. I am going to try sanding or sand blasting mine to get a better match. 3) Finally there is a 1/16 gap between the mag and the grip that shows a lot of silver of the mag housing. The grip ext. needs to be a little taller and I noticed both Springfield and Pearce add a beveled edge to help lengthen the extension and fill this gap. All in all still a good item, but the devil is always in the details.
