What Makes Benelli Different

Benelli’s patented Inertia Driven® system uses the recoil energy of the fired shell to cycle the action rather than gas. The result is a simpler mechanism with fewer parts, less maintenance, and exceptional reliability across a wide range of loads — from light target loads to heavy 3” magnum waterfowl shells. Compared to gas-operated semi-autos, Benelli shotguns are easier to clean, less susceptible to fouling, and lighter. The tradeoff is slightly more felt recoil than a gas gun, though Benelli’s ComfortTech® stock system significantly mitigates this on their field guns.

Model Guide

M2 Field — The most versatile Benelli for upland hunting and general field use. Lightweight, reliable, and available in multiple gauges. A perennial best-seller.

M2 Tactical — The M2 platform configured for home defense and tactical use. Ghost ring sights, pistol grip stock option, and proven reliability. One of the most capable tactical semi-autos available.

M3 Tactical — Unique pump/semi-auto convertible action. Switches between inertia semi-auto and pump operation for maximum versatility.

M4 Tactical — Benelli’s gas-operated tactical shotgun, adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps. The gold standard for a serious defensive shotgun. Heavier and more expensive than the M2, but softer shooting and extremely durable.

Montefeltro — A classic upland field gun. Lighter than the M2, traditional aesthetics, and available in standard and silver receiver versions. Excellent for upland bird hunting.

Ethos — Benelli’s premium sporting and field shotgun. Progressive Comfort recoil reduction, enhanced aesthetics, and available in 12 and 20 gauge. Best for clay target sports and upland hunting.

828U — Benelli’s over/under, built around a steel receiver with aluminum side plates. A premium O/U for sporting clays and field use.

Cordoba — Designed for high-volume dove and sporting clays shooting. ComfortTech® stock, ported barrels, and available in 12 and 20 gauge.
