We Search For The Best 17 Winchester Super Magnum Rifle

Which rifle won our straw poll? The  Ruger 77/17 WSM  with the Green Mountain laminated stock. It’s a great looking rifle, with a varmint contour barrel - good for longer shooting sessions with a hot caliber. There are not a lot of 17 WMR rifles out there yet- so the choice was easy.

After a box of ammo - and after shooting the target shown, we decided that a trigger job was needed for maximum accuracy. This has been our experience with many Ruger products over the years. Their triggers are better the last few years, but the rimfire rifles can still use some refinement. The finished trigger is much light and crisper. Our in house gunsmith does trigger jobs quickly- call him if you need a better trigger.
