The M70 is a recoil-operated, single-action, pistol. This model differs most significantly from the locked-breech M57 by employing simple blowback, as this method is suitable for less powerful ammunition. Other differences from the parent M57 are found in the safety mechanisms, with both a manual safety lever and a magazine disconnect being present. The manual safety lever is located on the left side of the frame, above the grip panel, and flips forward to fire and back to engage the safety.
Owing to its Tokarev design lineage, the pistol is easy to dissemble and the hammer assembly is removable as one piece. The sights are fixed, with the rear sight being drift-adjustable for windage.
For many years these pistols were used by Yugoslavian police and military. Today many of these pistols are sold worldwide as surplus and are popular among civilians in Serbia, sometimes referred as "Pčelica" (little bee), as well as backup guns for police.
ARSENAL REFINISHED SINGLE ACTION MANUAL SAFETY
This is a nice. little 32 auto. Mine is a GRC imported one. Beautiful bluing and the condition was perfect. After cleaning the gun, the bluing polished up very nicely. The only things I don't like are the after-market adjustable sight. It just looks odd and does not sight well with the front sight. The other thing is that this gun has a hard slide to rack. almost impossible to pull back. I though t I did something wrong and took the gun apart several times and verified that it assembled properly. Must be all of the new parts and a very tight fit of the slide to frame. Even with the hammer in a the firing position, the slide is hard to pull back. Also, the mag does not drop free. It's a nice gun to add to a collection. Get them while they are available.
