H&K Awesome, November 20, 2016
I've had my USP 45 since it first came out. Put so many rounds through it. German manufacturing at it's finest. With the recoil system, I can double tap targets where I couldn't with my Glock or old S&W 4506. I love this pistol

HK USP 45 - Dead Center, January 05, 2013
I recently got the HK-USP-45 and I was actually looking for the HK45. I went with the USP because it has a larger safety lever and a 12rd clip capability. This version is not meant to be a concealed carry, it is a service pistol once intended to replace the aging Military 1911 Colt. A bit large for small hands but has a comforatble feel and less recoil of the 1911 due to the built in recoil system. It does kick more than the 9mm Glock because this is a 45cal (11.25mm), however I believe there is an HK USP 9mm conversion kit out there somewhere, but haven't been able to find yet. HK makes the USP in 357sig, 9mm, 40SW and 45ACP versions all using the same frame. The USP45 is smooth, easy and safe to operate, and has a Lock-Out Tool/Key that locks the hammer closed disabling the gun. It is accurate and has better range than the 1911 .. I was delighted to put my first round not only in the bull, but dead center!

HK USP Compact - great form and function!, December 16, 2010
I really enjoy shooting this HK USP pistol!! Although I'm relatively new to concealed carry, I think it's a good firearm for that application. I had to have a .45 for carry, and this may not be the lightest auto, but with an appropriate holster it more than serves the purpose. My only gripe about this pistol in, when firing from the decocked position, it has a somewhat long length of pull and it takes practice to get that first shot precisely on target. I think the factory spring is 14 lb. but I hesitant to change it to something lesser as I've read of malfunctions with too light a spring. Still, pistol form and function are great. Really like HK!

Big Hands, December 16, 2010
I put 500 rounds through it without cleaning it with no malfunctions. If you have small hands you might want to consider a smaller framed gun as this has a pretty big grip!

Great gun, November 12, 2010
I purchased then gun 3 years ago. It is a duty gun or range gun that is very accurate. It has a comfortable feel for small hands so if i had large hands it would be even better. The gun has more kick than a Glock 21 but i feel more accurate with the USP over any of my handguns. The gun has only failed to feed 3 times with American Eagle ammo, all other ammo has feed great and no problems.
