Great Gun, October 23, 2013
Shot quite a few AR's while trying to decide what to get. I can tell you that all of them didn't feel as solid a gun for the money. The V5 is not my first choice from DD, wanted the V7, but the rail is really easy to get used to and the way it fires you don't care what is mounted on the barrel nut. I wanted to break it in over a weekend and ended up putting 500rds thru it the first weekend I brought it to the cabin, my friends couldn't put it down either. Awesome package, no regrets. They say that if you don't buy exactly what you want the first time you'll buy it the second while keeping the first. While it wasn't exactly my first choice it grew on me in 30rds. Buy it is my recommendation. Hope this helps someone

Great quality choice, January 04, 2013
This rifle exceeded my expectations. Even with a government profile barrel Daniel Defense makes up for the weight with its high quality rail systems that are exceptionally light. The barrel itself is hammer forged and chrome lined. The properly staked gas key, 1-7twist rate and m4 feed ramps are also great features that put this rifle up there with Colt, LMT, Troy, and Noveske. You don't pay for the name, so resale will be more difficult than with a colt rifle (for example), but don't underestimate the additional features such as the sling swivel point at the base of the receiver, or the magpul trigger guard and buttstock. Overall this rifle performed beautifully at the range in terms of accuracy and reliability, the only part I switched was the stock trigger. A great buy for those looking for a high quality rifle.

Great Weapon but....., November 23, 2012
Great weapon shoots great. It's been flawless through 1000 rds. It was a back ordered item and took less than six weeks to come in. My only complaint is Impact Guns customer service did not inform me when it came in. Then they would not tell me when it shipped I got a run around till I asked for the service manager, he got it sorted out and the weapon shipped. Also I bought a EOTECH XPS 2 and that sight is pure awesomeness.. Great sight for this rifle.

Happy so far, June 21, 2012
I have the lightweight version. It truly is light. So far I am very happy with it. Built well and shot fine. Once I dialed in the sights it shot very good. Of course this was free hand with iron sights so not to say I truly tested the accuracy of the gun.
