This laser/light combo is a bit old but it there's nothing wrong with it and certainly no reason to overlook it in favor of some new fancy contraption that has bells and whistles. The M6 laser-light combo was great when it came out years ago and it remains a great laser/light combination device, only now it is cheaper because the price has come down over the years. While the price has come down the quality has not, it remains the same solid and reliable workhorse that today that it was five years ago. There's a lot you can do with this combination device. It has several different modes, laser only, light only, laser and light, or off. Additionally the various modes can be set for continuous or for flip/specific activation. You can have your laser set to always be on or you can have the laser (or light) on standby and they can instantly be turned on by pushing and holding the switch, with shutting it off as easy as releasing the hold on the switch. It does what you want it to do and if you need a light on constantly it will do that for you, or if you need a light available instantly just by moving your finger and holding an activation switch it will do that for you. It's a very neat and useful device to have on your pistol (or a rifle or shotgun with a rail), especially for home defense purposes. You can have the light on stand-by and quietly investigate the noise you heard downstairs, without having the light on and giving yourself away, but with a simple move of the finger your light is on and illuminating your target. The M6 tactical light/laser is definitely deserving of consideration if you're looking to give your home defense weapon additional capabilities.
