First rifle bought through impact. Pleased with purchase, but did take 2 + weeks to ship..... However, came right after Christmas. Noticed on site the price increased 70$+ since my purchase so pretty happy about that.
For the rifle. well it's beautiful, accurate, cycles flawlessly. Only thing to watch out for is if you use the kit to put the little tab on the hammer (for use with scope), add some loctite red to make sure the nut does not come loose. The rifle comes with a foam pad glued to stock. It works well, but I'm a bigger guy at 6'2 250.
The sights are nice for what they are, and are good for 100+ yards. No need to buy a rail and a scope for this rifle. If you're on the fence about this rifle. Don't be. quality is there. accuracy is there. I'm glad I went with the 45-70 gov.

  • Overall, Great

I really love this gun. It's accurate and it feels great on my shoulder. It's got really solid construction and looks wondeful- for the most part. I was a little upset that the buttstock had some extra material sticking out from the side. it was some kind of manufacturing error that nobody took the effort to trim. My only other issue was that the wood had been over cut in the area where the trigger assembly goes. It's a small gap but it still bugs me a little. I would buy this gun again and I strongly recommend it.

  • Can't Believe How Nice it Shoots

Posted by wayne on Oct 24th 2013

I purchased one of these and then heard that there might be QC issues. I was concerned, to say the least, but then I got out to the range and, with iron sites at 100+ yards, put respectable shot groups on paper. My buddy was shooting his rifle (with a scope), and couldn't believe the accuracy of this rifle compared to his. I love everything about this rifle: the fit/finish is good; the mag capacity (6+1) is nice; the cycling has been flawless with about 100 rounds through it so far. Now I just have to get some reloading equipment...these rounds ain't cheap!

a wonderful rifle. handles very easy with it's short length but still cacpable of holding 1" groups at 100 yards with my stout reloads. holds 6+1 rounds, rear sight folds down for scopes and front sight blade cover is removable. it's by far my favorite rifle to hunt with when going modern. it can and will drop anything in the world with proper loads. what more could you want?

  • Very solid feel

This is a very well balanced lever action with a solid feel. The gun kicks less than I had expected and the laminate wood against the blued metal is a nice look.
