decent rifle
For a 22mag bolt gun this isn't bad at all. It's not the most expensive and the stock is proof of that. I'd give it 5 stars if the stock were a bit nicer. Overall though it shoots well and cycles well. no problems at all in a few hundred rounds of various ammo. I put an inexpensive 3x9 scope on it and it's a tack driver for what I use it for(small game behind the house). I sighted it in at 50 yards and I get great groups, very small. I've taken a few woodchucks at around 70-80 yards with it but that's about as far out as I've shot it. One of these days I'll get it sighted in for 100 yards. I paid $189 for this rifle a few years ago and it's been a good purchase. Marlin makes good guns. I wanted the 22mag for a while since it's a bit stronger than the 22LR. Now I think I may get the 17HMR.
