I purchased my P99 4 years ago, and every time I put some rounds down range, or at a target, I'm happy with the results. Mine is in S&W .40, with a DA/SA trigger, and while not the best trigger I've ever seen, it's pretty darn good. Add to that the ergonomic grip, with swap out back strap, and you've got a gun that will fit almost any shooter VERY comfortably. Out of the first 400 rounds through the gun, I had 2 failures to battery using cheap Monarch ammo. Since then I've used a higher quality round, I have had 0 issues. Cleaning is a breeze, with a field strip time of almost nothing. Some users might be a bit put off by the magazine release, located on the trigger guard, but as with H&K pistols, it functions well, is ambidextrous, and just takes some getting used to. The factory magazines are quality Mec-Gar, and I've had no issues with them either. The standard sights are passable, but could be upgraded.
All in all, I love this gun.
