Returned 3 times to get it to work,
July 09, 2015
First off, I do not own this gun but talked my dad into buying it. I've had great success with Taurus and when my dad was looking for a compact 9mm, I highly recommended the Slim 9mm. This was several years ago before the Millennium G2 was on the market. At the time my dad had shot my PT-111 and my PT-145 and liked them but thought something "slimmer" would be nice. As the "thin is in" craze had started.
I helped him get the Taurus Slim 9mm in stainless. Out the door he paid $400 for it. Those were the prices several years back, not like today.
Anyhow, he got the gun and it worked quite nicely for about 200 rounds of FMJ's but then the magazine started dropping out after every time he'd fire it. So, back to Taurus it went and I felt horrible that it broke so quickly. He got it back 2 weeks later and took it out to shoot. Mag stayed in but the gun would now only fire once or twice and jam. Okay, new problem. We tried everything and no luck, it had turned into a jam-o-matic. Again, back to Taurus.
Gun came back 3 weeks later, no real explanation on what was wrong or what had been done to it. The gun STILL DIDN'T WORK!! So we had to send it back after a lengthy phone call. This was the 3rd trip back!
Finally it came back to my dad and by some miracle it does now work. Apparently Taurus just replaced the entire top half of the gun. The barrel and the slide. This fixed it.
All in all I feel crummy my dad had this experience with the Slim 9mm. I talked him into getting it and he had nothing but problems. Not to mention right after he bought it the prices on Taurus pistols dropped like a ROCK! Bad timing and a lemon off the production like I guess.
Great Fit for a Woman's Hand,

Try this pistol if you are a woman and find that some 9mm hand guns are a bit too large for your hand. This one is a perfect fit! Love it.

I have 4 9mm glock 17, EAA witness and a Helwen, this is the one I carry everyday I forget I have it. shooting is good at grouping 3" at 25 yards. I carry in my inside coat pocket and no one knows I have it. I have shot about 400 rounds no trouble!

I love this pistol,

I have owned this pistol for almost a year and have over 400 rounds through it. I have had one FTE with Winchester White Box. It has flawlessly functioned with Hornady Critical Defense, Remington, American Eagle, and Federal Hydrashoks in varying grains and some +p. Recoil was extremely managable and I was able to shoot over 100 rounds in a session without pain in my hands. Accuracy is within 2-3 inches at 15-20 yards when I do my part. The sights seem cheaply made, but they function well. Mag changes are performed without any problem and it conceals very well with the right holster. I have holsters from Don Hume and Bianchi that fit it very well and are comfortable. I know the Taurus name makes some cringe, but I would not hesitate to buy another. I am actually buying the 738 for my wife. Happy Shooting
