The TCP features an improved and stronger external extractor. The unique frame is a composite of stainless steel and Kevlar re-enforced polymer, and is quite possibly the strongest polymer frame on the market. The precision stainless steel insert contains all the critical pinholes, frame rails, barrel lock-up areas and the feed ramp. The stainless steel insert is permanently bonded into the polymer during manufacture for maximum service life. The TCP was designed from day one as an 11 round .45 ACP pistol and does not utilize a "plugged" 13-14 round magazine. Due to the specialized magazine design and the polymer construction, the TCP's grip is actually narrower than a standard 1911 even though it holds two more rounds of potent .45 ACP ammunition.
