Silencer Barrels
|
Most handguns require a new, threaded barrel before you can install a silencer. These new barrels are approx. 1/2" or more longer than the stock barrel, and are threaded, so that a silencer can be attached onto the barrel, or a quick-detach device can be installed.
Because there are so many types of handguns, we are not able to stock barrels for each type of pistol. Here are some suggestions for guns to suppress:
Handguns:
The best and easiest guns to put silencers on are:
- Beretta's
- Glock's
- H&K's
- Any 1911 (Colt, Kimber, Springfield, etc)
- Sig (some models)
- Springfield XD's
- Walther's (most models)
For the .22lr, it's hard to beat the tried and true Ruger MarkII's & III's, in almost any variation. We do suggest you install one of the integrated style suppressors. We have several listed for sale. The Walther P22's are also great to suppress and can be adapted using a $30 silencer adapter no threading or gunsmithing is required! Sig Mosquito's are also now shipping with factory threaded barrels installed.
***Forget putting a silencer on a revolver- that's for Hollywood.***
Rifles:
Bolt action rifles (Accuracy Internationals, Blaser LRS2's, FN SPR's & PBR's, Remington 700's, SAKO TRG's, Savage Tacticals, Steyrs, Tikka's, Winchesters, etc) are easy to install silencers on. We just need the barrelled action, which is then threaded. Average cost is about $125-$200.
Semi auto & full auto rifles (AR15's, M16's, FN's, HK's, Daewoos, M1A's, etc.) are also easy, especially if the barrel is already threaded or has a flash hider or muzzle brake.
For rifles, stick with these calibers: 22LR, .223 or 5.56MM, .30's- 308, 300 Win Mag, & yes we can suppress the 50 BMG. |
