During the 5,000-round torture test of the Para PXT 1911 pistol including the 1,000 Hot Gun Challenge Todd Jarrett used Chip McCormick Power Mags. During the run up to the Hot Gun Challenge the pistol had qualified with 1,000 rounds fired through it with no malfunctions using both factory magazines and 10-round Power Mags. World Speed Shooting Champion, Jarrett used the 10-round Power Mags for their extra capacity to reduce the number of times he had to reload the pistol.

This was critical during the 1000-round Hot Gun Challenge where Jarrett was establishing a world record for how fast he could put 1,000-rounds through the Para PXT 1911 pistol. As Jarrett poured round after round of International 155-grain frangible ammo with, a muzzle velocity of 1,150 feet per second, the barrel got so hot it would sear flesh
