The PVS-14 is a light weight, multi-purpose, night vision monocular with similar key features found in the AN/PVS-7B/D single tube night vision goggles. The objective and eyepiece assemblies allow attachment of similar accessories and the head/helmet mount adapter is exactly the same. A weapon mount adapter is also available for mounting the system on the M16/M4 Picatinney style rail. A long list of optional accessories make the PVS-14 an extremely versatile system, configuration of which is limited only by the user's imagination.The U.S. Army has adopted the AN/PVS-14 as its standard issue monocular. The unit is a self-contained system operating on one AA battery and features manual gain control to meet various brightness conditions. A red low-battery Indicator appears in the eyepiece when battery replacement is needed.
