Originally the Mauser rifle was used by all branches of the armed forces of Nazi Germany during World War II. Resistance forces in German occupied Europe made frequent use of captured German 98k rifles. These rifles were manufactured between 1935-1945. After the War, the surplus rifles were dispersed throughout many countries in Europe. This rifle is in the standard 7.92 X57MM, 8MM Mauser caliber with a barrel approximately 24 inches in length.
