This revolver is chambered in 38 S&W and has a 3" round barrel with raised rib. The 5 shot cylinder is fluted and the finish is blued. It is a top break design with a round butt. The grips are a swirl pattern and edges are still sharp and the SW monogram is intact. This model has an oval side plate, eliminating the weakness of the First model. There were approx. 115,000 manufactured between 1880 and 1884.
