Constructed around Remington's rugged and economical model 597 .22 LR rifle, the FIREFLY is a high efficiency integrally silenced rifle whose sound signature has to be experienced to be believed. The 7/8" diameter silencer module of the FIREFLY so effectively dampens the Remington's sound signature, shooters and onlookers hear nothing more than the overlapping sounds of bolt-slap and downrange bullet impact. AAC's design goal for the FIREFLY was to create an affordable, light-weight, silenced .22 rifle that would be the ultimate companion for the hiker and outdoorsman, and the perfect silenced .22 rifle for the first time buyer. The calculated barrel porting, barrel tensioning, and light-weight construction all add up to a compact, easy-to-carry, silenced .22 caliber rifle unmatched in sound quality and accuracy. Constructed of a combination of 304 stainless steel and weight saving aerospace quality aluminum alloys, the FIREFLY uses no mesh, wipes, springs, or other replaceable materials or packing.
