The DEFENDER silencer represents the state-of-the-art in fast-attach silencer technology for the .40/.45 caliber Heckler & Koch UMP submachinegun. The DEFENDER silencer couples to the flanged barrel of the UMP through the use of a fast-attach mount, similar to the mount employed on the M9-SD silencer. Operators are able to attach or remove the silencer in less than 5 seconds. The advanced baffle design of the Defender silencer delivers its rated sound reduction level of -25dB with no wipes or coolant. This compact, lightweight design eliminates muzzle flash and significantly reduces felt recoil. For operations in potentially explosive atmospheres, approximately 5cc's of water in the rear of the DEFENDER will assist in reducing ejection port flash and have the added benefit of increasing the amount of sound reduction to an astonishing 40dB.
