The Texas Defender has a trigger guard which is removable. The Cowboydoes not have a trigger guard and one cannot be put on it. The CowboyDefender was designed for the Cowboy Action Shooting Sports because itresembles the 1860's Remington style derringer. If you want to shootlarge calibers such as .357 Magnum and up, the Texas Defender with thetrigger guard is much more controllable than the Cowboy without thetrigger guard. The Century 2000 (C2K) is the only version of the BondDefender derringers that has a 3 1/2" long barrel which allows thepistol to shoot a 3" .410 Shot Shell, along with the 2 1/2" .410 andthe .45 Colt. The Century 2000 Defender will accept any of the othercaliber barrels that Bond Arms makes.
