Video or still photographs can be reviewed on the LCDdisplay immediately after they are captured to perform realtime shot diagnostics(determining aimpoint efficacy, impact effect, which way the intended target ran afterthe shot, etc.).
The scope can be set such that a five second video sequence is captured and stored on an Secure Digital Memory Card activated by the shot. The five second sequence can be set to contain video that is all before the shot, a combination of video before the shot and after the shot, or all after the shot. The scope can also be setup to capture high, medium, or low resolution still imagery in the same manner.
Generous Exit Pupil Diameter Constant Over Magnification Range
Conventional riflescopes have significantly reduced exit pupil diameters at the higher magnifications.
Since the DigitalHunter™ riflescope has electronicmagnification (eZOOM), the exit pupil does notchange with magnification. The exit pupil is thesame at high magnification or low.
Video Output Port
A video output port enables others to see what theshooter sees in real time when the video is viewedon an external monitor. This will be particularlysuitable for shooting training and hunter safetyclasses. The video from this port allows the hunterto share his experience (whether successful orunsuccessful) with his hunting buddies back atcamp through an external monitor.
USB Port
The USB port provides an easy method for downloadingcustomized reticles and ammunition ballistics to yourscope. In addition, you can upload captured images& video from DigitalHunter™ to your computer.
Secure Digital Card
The Secure Digital Card port provides a simple meansof storing images & video from your scope. The portis compatible with the commonly available SecureDigital Memory Card format. In addition, all reticlesand ammunition ballistic information can betransferred through the Secure Digital Card providingan alternative to the USB interface.
Power
The Power port provides an alternative power source to AA batteries. When at home designing reticles or uploading images, DigitalHunter™ can be plugged into residential power through a 12V AC/DC power adaptor.
The Power port can also be connected with a number ofaftermarket rechargeable 12 V power packs for thoselong days at the range or in the deer stand. To ensurethat external cables do not interfere with shooting,DigitalHunter™ has been designed to automaticallyswitch to battery power when external power is removed.
Ballistically Corrected Reticle
The scope automatically positions the scene so the shooter can hold "dead-on" at the estimated range to the target. The shooter inputs "zero range", "bullet data", "rifle data" into ballistic software, then downloads it to the scope via USB port.
Then before the shot, he quickly and easily inputs"estimated range to the target" using the scopemounted key pad. The scope then positions thescene (positions the crosshairs) so the shootercan position the crosshairs at the desiredpoint-of-impact. This allows the scope to compensatefor the ballistics of the bullet/rifle combinationrather than the shooter having to do it.
Realtime Reticle Swapping
The hunter can have 4 different reticles loaded into the scope at one time and can use them in a variety of different ways. One way, using this feature, is to have the scope sighted in at a certain range with Reticle No. 1 (100 yds), then a different range for Reticle No. 2 (like 200 yds), and so on. All four reticles would look the same (same color, same design). Another way to use this feature is to have two reticles for a light background such as snow and two reticles for a dark background such as dark timber. The reticle features (lines, dots, etc.) for thelight background could be black, green, or red,(or any other high contrast color) and the reticlefeatures for the dark background could belight (white, lite gray, etc). A third way to usethis feature is to have light and dark reticlefeatures incorporated into the same reticle so thatthe reticle can be clearly seen in light and darkbackground situations. A fourth way this feature canbe used is to have the different reticles setup fordifferent bullets i.e., two for a light bullet(varmints) and two for heavier bullets (big game).
Electronic Zoom
There are no moving parts in the scope except fordiopter adjustment. Magnification is accomplishedelectronically, centered about the designated centerpixel. Aimpoint does not change at all duringmagnification changes like it does on conventionalscopes. Resolution does not change significantlyfrom wide field of view to narrow field of view.
