...we wanted a .40 S&W 1911 compact. Of the guns he set out on the calendar, my wife zeroed in on the Springfield EMP. She loved the grip and the smooth, light trigger pull. I thought that the very stiff recoil spring and the weight would be a problem for her, but in spite of the very stiff recoil spring, she is able to rack it. We took it to the range and she was able to control it nicely, putting the rounds in the 9 and 10 rings at 25 feet. I also fired it, putting rapid fire rounds in a 3" spread at 25 feet. This weapon is small, powerful, accurate and reliable, a pleasure to shoot.
