I have owned many AR-15 model rifles, from Bushmaster to Rock River Arms, to custom one-off brands, but never have I been as comfortable with a shoulder-fired weapon than with the S&W Magpul M&P15. The Magpul accessories made it comfortable to handle, and easy to keep on target, and I even went so far as to trade in the flip up rear sight for a removable carry handle, only to go running back for "backsies" on my Magpul flip-up after my first range session.
The Magpul accessories were nice, but the action was one of the smoothest, cleanest snapping actions I have encountered.
I suppose my hang up from giving it a 5 would be the loud spring sound coming from the collapsible buttstock on every shot (only for the shooter as the hearing protection is usually resting on or near the spring tube).
All in all, I am very, very impressed with this weapon, and I cannot stress how the ergonomics improve with the Magpul accessories.
