Smith and Wesson 1911SC 45ACP, 4.25 Inch, Novak Sights, Crimson Trace Grips, Blued, 8rd

Bought this about a year ago and I really like the scandium frame, the external extractor and the Crimson Trace LASER grip. As opposed to my Kimber of the same length, the empties do not come down on top of my head, and oddly, the felt recoil is markedly less with the Smith, using identical loads. My hit ratio is much higher with the LASER on during my Mozambique Drill, and I found that my son's fiance and my ex both were able to hit center-of-mass on silhouettes quite accurately as opposed to using the iron sights alone at CQB distances. Trigger pull is equally as good as my Kimber, with a lighter feel. Zero failure-to-feeds, 100% reliability so far with over 2,000 rds shot, both ball and hollow points. Highly recommended!!

The Crimson Trace grip adds a discreet laser sight that can be easily activated with a middle-finger on the grip. Out of the box the laser sight was close. I had to adjust it slightly. The iron sights are adjustable, but were good out of the box. I have a Springfield and a Kimber 1911. This one shoots just as well as the others. A little better than the Springfield because it has the longer barrel and is a little heavier. You can't go wrong with this 1911.
