I own several Sig Sauer handguns and have no complaints about any of them. I bought the Sig P220 Extreme for a light weight open carry weapon. Once again: way to go Sig. This is a great gun. The Double action is a bit heavy, but very even; making it possible to hit your first shot, double action, easily. Keep in mind that I'm an old fart and have been handling .45's since I was 12 years old ... in addition to being ex-military. The single action trigger is ... well, sweet. This weapon is as accurate as the person firing it. My daughter came to visit me recently and wanted to learn to use a handgun. My P220 was the weapon of choice for this task because of ease in handling and ridiculously simple take down for cleaning. The SRT is also a great feature. A .45 is a bit much gun for my daughter being that she is very petite. She decided that she wanted a gun for personal protection. I told her that she could choose the caliber, but I got to choose the make. She chose a Sig P229 extreme (9mm)because she really liked my P220, but not the amount of recoil. The key points for her choice were: ease of operation, simple design, ease of takedown for cleaning, quality, comfort in handling, SRT, and it has a rail. (Her choices were a variety of Sigs or Glocks. I had no problem with paying the price difference because I am a big fan of Sig Sauer weapons.) I was so impressed with her gun at the firing range that I ordered a Sig M11-A1 w/ night sights & SRT for myself. And I'm not all that fond of 9mm's, but it's a great carry or backup weapon.
