First of all, this amazing firearm is chambered in .45 ACP, which is the round you want if you need to absolutely positively stop an altercation at close range with a single well-placed shot. Once you get used to shooting a .45, you'll wonder why anyone messes around with anything else. Second, it's a SIG, which means it's built to incredibly high standards in terms of materials (no friggin' plastic in my guns, please) and workmanship. Third, it's American made, which still means something to some of us. Like all SIG pistols (except the 1911 clones), it breaks down into a few simple components quickly and easily, which is important in the long run. The night sights are great and a good idea since most bad stuff happens after dark. And the smaller size doesn't diminish the accuracy while making it a little easier to carry and conceal. Over the years I've owned a sackful of 1911s, and about 6 years ago I bought a P-220. Now they're all gone, and the SIG stays. My longtime gunsmith, who has worked on everything, keeps a SIG in his nightstand, and when I asked him what aftermarket "performance parts" he suggested, he laughed and said there's no need - it's good to go out of the box. What else do you want in a handgun?
