I bought one of the first shipped. It wouldn't go "bang", as the hammer stopped at the quarter-cock notch short of the firing pin. One week trip to the factory and back, now it's fixed; good service.
The large sights are great. Raising it to eye level, the P290 points naturally like a model 1911. The light, consistent, short trigger pull is easily managed by those with experience shooting double-action handguns. No malfunctions occurred firing over 100 rounds of various 95 to 147 grain ammunition. Off-hand 10-yard six round groups were 2 to 3 inches. It jumps, but is not painfull to shoot. I wouldn't hesitate to carry this Sig P290 when circumstances dictate a small gun as the best choice for concealment.
