Lightbulbs at 100ft, June 16, 2012

While its a pretty heavy piece, I carried a RedHawk while I lived in Alaska, the most accurate handgun I have shot, while you may stop a bear with 44mag. - its better not to try (but it makes you feel better having it believe me) Up in AK they say save the last round for yourself. Very good piece, also gets heavy if you are packing it far.

I bought this gun (blued version) as a "protector" while at work. I was working in the mountains around Pike's Peak area and needed a gun that would be effective on big game. The recoil was at first surprising (my first handgun!), but soon got accustomed to it. I reload my ammo, so I shoot lighter loads for target and have 300 gr. loads for protection when in the mountains. It carries on the hip very comfortably and is a complete joy to shoot.
