I'd buy it again. Best features are reliability and ammo affordability.
It works. I've shot about 1,000 rounds with no mechanical problems. Easy to dissemble and clean (see Youtube videos).
Ammo is affordable. Russian steel-cased ammo sells for less than 30 cents / round --- cheaper than 9mm and less than half the cost of other rifle calibers. This has been important to me, since I'm learning to shoot accurately enough to make first-shot kills hunting. Lots of practice has made me lots better. I've noticed that at the range, guys with other calibers don't shoot as long as I do.
Semi-auto action. Lots of fun.
Hunting caliber. I live in a state where hunting deer, etc. with AR .223 is illegal. This rifle's 7.62 x 39 ammo is legal for hunting here. Be sure to Lok-tite your scope.
1 of my 6 Ruger 20-round mags jams and is unusable.
Cheap steel cased ammo occasionally fails to fire. I read that this is due to the AK caliber ammo, which needs a heavy primer strike. This happens less than once a magazine (20). When it does I just rack the bolt and accept this as a feature of a gun that is so affordable to shoot.
