While it didn't come with the B-76 rear sight for some reason (bought from eBay for 12 dollars), that's the only downside I've had with this rifle. Sight alignment is easy and the bolt action is as clean as I could ever hope for. I have not had one cartridge fail to this point (out of maybe 200), and it's not high end stuff I am shooting. Easily accurate out past 100 yards. From standing position, I get 1" groups at ~40 yards, and I'm not terribly experienced with shooting. You can load both the standard 10 round magazine, or the 25 round Ruger mag if you don't like reloading. However, since it's a bolt-action...a high capacity magazine seems to have limited upside.
I also own the American in .308 and it's quite a different experience. The .22 has almost no recoil, not exactly the same with the .308. Both are winners, but I prefer the .22 for the American series.
