Everything you like about the traditional 12-gauge Model 870 Express, but in a synthetic-stock version that is virtually indestructible. Rain, sleet, snow—whatever Mother Nature throws at it doesn''t matter. The butt stock and fore-end stay dimensionally stable, and won''t swell or crack due to weather extremes. Stock and all metalwork have black matte non-glare finish. Comes with a 26-inch or 28-inch vent rib barrel and Modified Rem™ Choke.

Great Gun, November 17, 2012

I just purchased this as my first shotgun. I heard this is THE SHOTGUN to have and with about 500 rounds through it in a very short time, I would have to agree. My first 200 - 300 rounds were Federal target loads and I had more jams then I could count on hands, feet, teeth, or hairs... I cleaned it well and switched to Remington target loads and have yet to have a jam. I have shot 75 to 100 rounds in a 45 minute time period and with the remington ammo, I didn't have one Jam. Very Very easy to break down for cleaning. I have a .40 on one side of my bed and this on the other side now and I am almost certain that an intruder would run out of the house screaming just from the sound of racking this beast!

Remington's workhorse: 1 gun, multiple apps., November 16, 2010

I've had this version of the venerable Remington 870 for a couple years and couldn't be more happy. I've used it for sporting clays, upland game, small varmints and it has worked great for all applications. It also resides close at hand in the bedroom as my other home defense gun. It shoots everything I've thrown through it including some hot hand loads. I'm merely a novice hunter, but this gun makes me look a lot better. Great all around gun and even better when you consider the price and reputation of this gun and Remington. Everyone should have and 870 around.
