HIGHLY RECOMEND,
November 13, 2012
I bought my 770 chambered in 30-06 five years ago. This gun has never left me feeling weary. Yes the bolt is a little "tight", but I polished and cleaned it and no longer an issue. For the price you can't expect a weatherby. I see all sorts of complaints online about the bolt (clean it and quit complaining) and the scope. At the price Remington had to cut cost somewhere, and the scope was it. With that being said I hunted with my 770 and original scope four years without any issues. Just replaced for a little more light gathering. As far as people complaining about jamming issues I have only shot core lokt and have never had a feeding issue. My bolt lock works flawlessly and as far as accuracy, any shots I have missed where due to me. Would highly recommend this gun to anyone.

Remington 770 30/06,
October 14, 2012
I just pick one up this weekend from (brand X) The bolt is a little lose I'm not sure if that's how its made. I'm going to take it out this weekend and see how it shoots. I'm hopping I don't have to send it in. Deer season is almost here and I need it

5 stars for its prce,
July 31, 2012
I bought this gun becuase of reviews of people who actully own the gun, the stock is cheap the bolt isnt sticky its just loose and the triger feel like its from an bb gun, that said once sighted in properly(by the way it is horribly bore sighted first time you shoot it u should set up a big peice of cardboard)it can hit steel plates at 500 yards with the factory scope. This would be a perfect rifle for a beging hunter who will see a deer within 100 yards other than that it is not recomened. It is perfect for a first rifle for children as well

My review of Remingtion 770,
July 29, 2012
This gun takes a lot of flack on the internet, i thing it is undue. For the price you pay for it it is a great weapon. Yes the bolt sticks but that can be fixed if you glob some high penetrating lubricant in the bolt and let it sit there then open and close the bolt a couple of times. Its reasonably accurate i made an under 1" grouping at 100yd. If your a beginner at shooting or want to buy a gun for a reasonable price i highly recommend the Remington 770.

Remington 770,
March 15, 2012
I have only 3 complaints
1.The safety will sometimes be re-engaged back into safe after being fired (sometimes, but when it happens its annoying)
2. Scope isn't that great most people will put something else on it
3. When I pull the bolt back to chamber a new round the entire bolt assembly will come out of the rifle. It happened to me 3 times and I checked to see if the bolt stop was down, and it was down 100% of the time.
I'm shipping it back to Remington in hopes they can fix all of this, if they can't, then I'm getting rid of it.

Great rifle, especially for the price!,
January 25, 2012
I picked up this rifle at a Big 5 for a special black Friday sale (didn't read any online reviews) for $300 in .30-06. I can sure say that I am glad I didn't read any of the reviews as I have had no problems with this gun. I've sent about 120 or so rounds through it without any issues, which is enough to win my respect considering shots were within 1 inch at 100 yards (federal powershok soft points). Sure the rifle has plastic, most guns nowadays unfortunately do, but it has again worked without any issues. I hear alot of BS about bolt handles breaking off, I truly doubt it, and with my .30-06 model, it would be really easy to just weld it right back on there if it did happen. By the way, the bolt on mine is about as stiff as any other rifle I've fired - you'd have to be pretty damn weak to have any issues operating it properly.

Who wants to trade me?,
October 08, 2011
I bought a model 770 (30-06) two seasons ago because I'm a fan of remington bolt action rifles. I haven't yet had a productive day with it. The rifle has had feeding issues ever since I took it out of the box. Bullet will not feed and the round is sandwiched in smashing the bullet. I have been told by many gun shops that this is a common problem and some have even removed them from the shelves and refused to sell them because of the quality issues. I had been told that the problem was with the magazine, but I've purchased three assorted brands and have yet to see an improvement. I give the gun top marks for accuracy at it's price, but only when hand feeding the rounds, making the gun all but useless in real world applications.

Great fiream,
September 27, 2011
I am so happy i did not read the reviews before buying the rifle, all the ID10t's writing reviews after picking up the riffle in a shop, working the bolt a few times, and deciding that it is a POS! I love this rifle, After buying the rifle, i gave it a good cleaning, then went of to the range. Three bullets later, it was dead accurate, and on my forth, dropped a Deer. I have been hunting with this rifle for three seasons in a row, no problems what so ever, keep your gun in tip top shape buy cleaning it after each hunt, spending time with the gun also makes you appreciate it more!
