Heavy barrel but it points well. Mine has a heat shield o.k., but it's probably better without it. Mine shoots buck and slug fairly accurately. At 15 yards, the shot pattern did not spread much as expected, and slugs were to point of aim. Recoil was not too bad, so I think the muzzle brake helps. IMO- the spikes could go...
