got this shotgun as a gift about a year ago. while it is a double barrel and works great as a double barrel, it has some issues that i think should be worked out before the company tries selling this as a "defense shotgun". 1: as is characteristic of most over/under shotguns i've handled, the barrels cock the internal firing mechanism so it'll fire upon opening the action. becuase of this, if you don't hold the gun at a certain angle, the bottom barrel will be partically blocked by the receiver. you now have to push the barrel down again to access the bottom barrel for loading/unloading. 2: this shotgun has extractors, not ejectors. ejectors are much better suited for a defensive siuation. 3: if pointed at a decent downward angle, the trigger will not work and you'll have to raise the barrels up again to fire. so aiming down a flight of stairs wouldn't work too well with this. i do like the fact that it is lightweight (don't shoot slugs through it... it hurts) and i can select which barrel fires first, allowing two different rounds to be loaded at once for different scenarios. only reason i'm giving it 3 stars is because this gun is portrayed as a defensive shotgun when in reality it's just a shorter over/under hunting shotgun painted black and a few rails thrown on it. as a shotgun alone, 5 stars. as a defensive shotgun, 3 stars.
