Model 1894 Cowboy
With their tapered octagon barrels, these rifles offer true cowboy-rifle heft and aesthetics for everyone from the die-hard Cowboy Action Shooter to the hunter who appreciates 19th century-style firearms. The Model 1894 Cowboy has a 20" barrel and is chambered for 45 Long Colt, 44 Remington Mag/44 Special and 357 Mag/38 Special. Also, featuring traditional Ballard-style rifling, handsome American black walnut stock and fore-end, and richly blued finish.
This model is chambered in .357 Mag., 38 Special and 45 Colt. It is “factory-tuned” to meet the demands of competitive shooters, and features a 20" octagon barrel for quick sight alignment, and a western-style straight-grip walnut stock. Sights are traditional Marble adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and Marble carbine front. The receiver, bolt, trigger guard plate and lever of the 38 Special are color case-hardened for an authentic 19th Century look. (The .357 and the 45 Colt have a blued bolt.) To accommodate tang sight installation, the serial number is located on the left side of the receiver.
The Cowboy Competition Models have special “factory-tuning” operations performed on them to enhance levering speed and target acquisition. “Tuned” parts include: finger lever, finger lever plunger spring, hammer, breech bolt, breech bolt lock, carrier, hammer spring, and ejector.
