After hearing pros and cons, I had to try a Kimber. Selected the Stainless Target II. What a dud. After 20 rounds the windage screw snapped. I could have taken it to a gun shop, but I made Kimber fix it. (Excellent customer service. They even paid for all shipping.) But, after more than 200 rounds, the slide still freezes in the open position. It does this after every three to four magazines. I have to apply solvent to the rails and push it HARD forward, strip and clean it, and repeat the whole operation. The owners manual says you have to shoot 400 to 500 rounds to break it in, but why should I (or you) spend a couple hundred $$$ to make one of their guns work properly? (Complained to Kimber, and they do say I can return it to have a gunsmith "tune it." So, once again, good customer service, but it all seems needless to me.) Stick with Colt!
