The Stainless II .45 ACP blends the features and performance expected from Kimber in a stainless steel pistol with increased resistance to the elements. Essentially a stainless steel version of the Custom II with night sights, it has a match grade barrel, chamber, trigger and barrel bushing, along with a frame and slide carefully machined from solid steel. A 1911 fits almost any size hand and points naturally for faster and more accurate shooting, an advantage that is impossible to overstate. The single-stage trigger breaks at 4–5 pounds without the creep and overtravel common to other designs, and the 1911 safety system has never been equaled. Combined with the proven accuracy and performance of the .45 ACP cartridge, the Stainless II is one of the best choices for daily carry.

Excellent Piece of Machinery, February 04, 2013

As already mentioned, the factory mag is not the best. Burrs on the inside of the stamping at the top edges (inside) cause extra friction, sometimes preventing proper feeding. I used a diamond-dust sharpening stone to knock off the burrs, and I've NEVER had a failure to feed since... Accuracy is phenomenal right out of the box, and the trigger is incredibly smooth. If you're an "ok" shooter, this will make you a "very good" shooter. When I got good with this (SS-II, .45, box-stock), I went back to my "cheap" pistols, and was a much better shot... trigger control, recoil, flinching issues, all gone. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent 1911 with a very good trigger and accuracy but the magazine that was supplied with failed right out of the box with 100% failure to feed. I replaced it with wilson combat magazines and no problems since.

Clean crisp solid gun, November 12, 2010

This was my first 1911, good quality over all, 99.9% reliable only a few failure to feeds. Have fired 500 rounds through it so far. Easy for my wife to handle (her first hand gun experience). Pros: Reliable, good build quality, fit and finish are great. Trigger is nice and crisp. Easy to dissabsemble and clean. Good weight and balance stay on target. Cons: Mine shipped with a 7 round magazine. Barrel finish on outside of chamber is a little rough would like this to be smooth, you can still see the grind marks, this is the part you can see through the slide that has the 45ACP stamped on it. end of gun gets dirty pretty quick is very noticable on the stainless. Other Notes: Use with a Serpa holster, works great.
