Any of the Heckler and Koch MP5 series of submachine guns can be greatly enhanced by installation of a vertical foregrip as they are most often deployed in the full auto mode. There is no doubt that that use of a vertical foregrip can significantly diminish muzzle climb during burst-fire sequences.
However not every agency, or individual can afford or justify the installation of a bulky and expensive forearm unit surrounded by multiple rail assemblies, when all the want to do is add a vertical foregrip or flashlight to this relatively compact weapon.
GG&G has recently introduced an inexpensive Under Forearm Integrated Rail (UFIR) for the Heckler and Koch MP5 series of submachine guns. This accessory rail permits instant installation and removal of a number of different vertical foregrips, as well as flashlights and numerous other accessories.
The GG&G UFIR can be easily installed onto the underside of the of an MP5 handguard using simple hand tools and a small amount of 262 Loctite. Detailed installation instructions and all of the parts required are supplied in the kit. GG&G’s UFIR is manufactured from 6061 T6 aluminum alloy and is hard coat anodized flat black per mil spec. As can be seen in the photographs, the UFIR is contoured to fit the MP5 foregrip and provides a solid, rugged mounting platform. This four inch accessory rail is machined to MIL-STD-1913 specifications.
