I got my FN Self Loading Police shotgun from Impact Guns. I have never had a semi-auto shotgun before and I really love this one.
It has a high profile ghost ring rear sight, with two white dots on the outside of the ring, and another on the front sight. The front site is also has protective wings on each side. The rear sight is mounted on a rail and can be easily removed to add an optic like an Eotech.
The SLP is based on the Winchester SX2 design and shoots 2 3/4 and 3inch magnum shells. Winchesters website had an article where a guy was able to shoot 5 rounds, of buckshot, through his SX2 in about a half of a second. I am twice as slow firing 6 rounds in 1.18 of second, on my pact timer. And that was my first time out with it.
It uses the Invector choke system and comes with two chokes, Cylinder and Improved Cylinder, and the wrench to change them.
It comes with two gas cylinders; the standard is for less than 1 1/2ounce loads and the other for heavier loads. The gas system does require a stout load to operate it. I have found the usual 1 1/8 promotional loads that you find every year just before dove season do not have enough energy to make it cycle properly.
I found some S&B Heavy Field Loads, 12 guage 2 3/4 inch, 1 1/4 oz, # 4 shot, functioned beautifully with the standard gas cylinder. The other cylinder was good for 3 inch magnum loads, buckshot and slugs. It does soften the magnum recoil a lot when compared to my Mossberg 500.
It also comes with a hard case sporting the FN logo.
Overall It is a great gun with the Quality that I expect from FN. I would have given it 5 stars but I had some trouble with the light, promotional, shot shells.
