Nice weapon,
March 11, 2012
Large grip but I have large hands and this is not problem for me. Easy to shoot, low recoil for 45 ACP. For me best polymer high capacity pistol.
Owned XD 45, XDM 45, Glock 21 but FNP 45 USG have so much more.
Only problem for this firearm is lack of accessories. Holsters on market are not so good for IWB carry. Found one for Sig Sauer 220 and gun fit in good.

Great Firearm,
August 23, 2011
I bought mine a little over 3 yr. ago. I hurried out and bought 2 more 15 rd. mags and I am glad I did. I havn't seen very many mags since then. This is the very best handgun I have ever owned or fired. The pattern of the handgips is unique. The sharply cut diamond pattern anchors your hand to the weapon so there is little fear of dropping it in the rain. It is very, very accurate whether firing single or double action. The recoil is very managable. It feels like you are firing a 9mm. I have no complaints about it at all.

FNP 45 USG - Great Firearm,
May 19, 2011
Did Joe buy the gun for his girlfriend or himself? Also, the FNP line uses magazines, not clips.
Great firearm..........16 rds of .45 ACP, nice SA trigger and very, very accurate.

Cons and Pros,
November 17, 2010
Cons-
1. large capacity magazine (14 rounds) very difficult to load final one or two rounds, even after breaking in the magazine springs.
2. extractor ejects the shell casing straight back on several occasions. I don't know if this is by design lending to ambidextrous operation, but my girlfriend was hit in the lip on her first shot ever fired. I've been distracted on follow up shots by the shells bouncing off my thick skull. not every shell extracts straight back, but after a couple of times it becomes a distraction.
3. large grip. i'm 6'3" with large hands and feel that the grip is wide, with a long trigger reach in DA even on the lowest of adjustable back grips. I guess i'm used to a 1911. The pistol grip of the FN needs to be wide to accomodate a double column magazine of .45 acp. its a little larger in circumference than my Sig 220. Still ok for me, but again, my gf had trouble with the grip. She stands 5'6".
4. due to the weight of the polymer frame you can feel the difference in shooting a full clip and shooting the last couple of rounds.
5. the safety/decocker. its too easy to decock the hammer when you just want to take it off safe but keep it in single action mode.
6. it came in a ridiculous plastic suitcase, not a convenient carry case.
Pros-
1. accurate. I was shooting 3"-4" groups from 25 yards without a rest. This is very good for me and at level.
2. easy take-down and cleaning.
3. ambidextrous usage.
4. large capacity clip for a .45 acp (2-14 round and one 15 round with Dark Earth model i purchased).
5. quality of finish is very good and it will soon have night sight options.
6. large trigger guard for cold weather shooting.
7. made in usa.
