The CZ 83 is a compact all-steel semi-automatic handgun, designed on the blowback breech principle. They are produced with a classic rifled barrel in calibers 7.65 mm Browning (.32 Auto), and 9 mm Browning Short (.380 ACP), and with polygonal bore for the 9 mm Makarov. (7.65 Browning and 9mm Makarov available by special order only) The trigger mechanism is of a DA/SA type. The CZ 83 features an ambidextrous manual safety, magazine catch and slide stop on one side. When the last cartridge from the magazine has been fired, the slide is locked in its rear position. The magazine is of a double-column type with a single cartridge outlet. Due to its favorable caliber to weight ratio, reliability and compactness helps to facilitate the concealed carry of this pistol, thus predisposing it to become a popular sought-after handgun for personal defense. The pistol is supplied with 3 dot sights.

AWESOMELY RELIABLE, April 06, 2011

This gun is incredible. I chose it for its high capacity and all steel construction. CZ also has a reputation for producing top-notch pistols, which exactly what I received. This gun is a little heavy, but it is all steel, so the trade off is well worth the extra weight. The weight also controls the recoil better as well, so follow up shots are easily placed. I have fed this gun low, medium, and high grade ammo. It has fed ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that I have given it with no problems what so ever. There was literally no break-in period for this gun, and it fed every round flawlessly from round 1 to 300. It is also extremely accurate. I have not fired it from a gun rest, but I am sure that you could easily achieve 1" groups at 50 feet with it easily. Reliable, easy to conceal, high capacity, all steel, well built, and a great finish makes this gun the perfect companion. Load it up with some Federal 95 grain jacketed hollow points for maximum effectiveness!

Perfect Carry Gun!, March 09, 2011

This pistol is perfect either as a first pistol, home defense gun, and carry gun. This was not my first (I own a Ruger .22) but it was my entrance into bigger calibers. The fit and finish on this gun is EXCELLENT. All the parts fit perfectly with not a single shake or rattle. It is an absolute tack driver as well! Some people complain about the recoil being "snappy," but I found it to be very manageable and my follow-up shots found their mark very easily. I have fired about 150 rounds of PMC and Winchester target ammo through it without a single hiccup. It is eager to please, eats everything you put through it, and is easy to take down. I couldn't imagine a more reliable pistol. I would put my life on this gun. Especially with some nice defensive ammo for that extra punch!!!!
