This is a heavy, sturdy, all-steel gun that is of excellent build quality.
If you are someone who is recoil-sensitive, please consider the CZ83 in .32ACP. Although this caliber is about one of the last you might want to consider for self-defense, it DOES have its value with the right ammo, and the recoil is virtually non-existent, given the weight of the gun and the characteristics of the .32 ACP.
Mouseguns online recently tested the Fiocchi XTP rounds at 12" of penetration (including expansion of .45) out of a similar barrel length'd .32ACP gun. That's all you need to ruin anyone's day.
George Patton carried an old Colt in .32ACP some of the time. Shot placement is key in ANY handgun caliber, and if you are proficient at putting a 12" deep hole (or multiple holes) in someone where someone else with a big caliber might be lucky to get 1 after lots of recoil messing up their shots -- you'll get the job done.
