Disc-Set Strikers: With lesser guns makers, the striker is an integral part of the tumbler. These are simpler to make, but require the replacement of the entire tumbler when the striker becomes worn. Locks: The steel used in AYA locks and springs is the very best available, and exclusive to AYA. Softer steel is cheaper and easier to work with, which is why it is preferred by lesser gunmakers... Chopper-Lump Forgings: With chopper-lump forgings, the barrel and lump are forged from one piece of steel, resulting in unequalled strength and uniformity. This the most costly way to make gun barrels. Replaceable Hinge Pin: After exceptionally long service (or more often, after repeated use of extra-heavy loads), a gun may "shoot loose". All AyA´s, unlike other makers, can be returned immediately to their original tightness by fitting a new hinge pin.
