Armalite AR10A4 Carbine 16", 308, Black W/Forward Assist

My first purchase from Impact. Bought this rifle with the intention of a "Do-It-All" workhorse; you could say an all around AR-15 battle rifle with a little extra punch. Following this outline ive proceeded to mount a vertical foregrip/bipod, and an EOTECH with 3x. Switch from close to long range with the flick of the wrist. Im VERY happy with my purchase, as stated on Armalites website, this doesnt have an imaculate finish, it is a mil-spec weapon that has one job and one job only: go boom each and every single time. it is quite good at that. recoil is quite controlable, I installed a muzzle break, kicks no more than 5.56....seriously. THE BAD>>>> here it is, this nabbed that 5th star. right out of the box, the cam key wouldnt clear the gas collector. had to shave a few thousandths with an ignition file. no biggie, but seriously a new rifle a guy cant even clean? bad juju in conclusion? if you want a tough, stout rifle thats all business and no flash, buy it. my only complaint is it doesnt accept p-mags, but real men use metal anyways

Mine has been perfectly reliable with about 800 rounds through it. Armalite has 25 round magazines available as well, and they are as long as 30-round AR-15 magazine, so will often fit in the same pouches. It's heavier than an AR-15 of course (especially with a loaded 25 round magazine), but it takes the recoil of the .308 down to something not much more than a .223 Armalite has again understated the accuracy of their weapons. They say "2 - 2 1/2 MOA" on this, but I was shooting 1 1/2 using German surplus ball ammo and a 9 power Nikon. With an EOTech and Hornady TAP 168 gr, I was still shooting 1 1/2 MOA. I bet I could do better with the 9 power and the TAP ammo...we'll have to see.
