The original design concept began with and examination of the exceptional performance of the traditional 45-70 cartridge performace both on game and in combat. The next challenge was to combing this performace with a highly manuverable, light weight rifle in a reliable, durable package.
The approach to solve this problem was to develop a cartridge that utilized the maximum space available given by the magazine and upper, while requiring the minimum alteration to the operating system.
This design was then cross referenced with specified design, safety, fatigue and environmental limits. The result was the .50 Beowulf™ cartridge.
.50 Beowulf single stacks in existing 5.45x45 magazine (.223). The cartridge case is a parallel wall brass construction with a rebated rim allowing utilization of an approved military bolt face.
Caliber- .50 Beowulf™
Projectiles- 334 grain Hollow point, 334 FMJ, 325 JHP
Velocity- 334 = 1950 ft/sec
.50 Beowulf ammunition has outstanding ballistic efficiency designed as a parallel case to maximize short barrel efficiency.
With no sharp shoulder to choke the case or to hang up the feed and a gentle taper which assists extraction and helps to absorb the manageable recoil during firing.
