I have used these in Iraq in the back of a tactical vehicle, firing weapons, and on military aircraft.
They are great because of the dual protection they offer. For constant noises like vehicles and generators use the green side.
For weapons firing or sudden sounds, use the yellow side. The yellow side has a filter that will activate with sudden loud noises but allow you to continue to have normal conversations without shouting.
This is a great and inexpensive alternative to electronic hearing protection.
The plugs fit most people and are very comfortable. No special insertion tools or techniques are needed, and the flanges are very soft. Easy to maintain and last a long time.
