Just what I wanted. A 4 inch reliable 1911 that feels good in the hand, is NOT a jamomatic, hits what its pointed at and can save my life or yours if i need it to. Hopefully this will never occur.
The last Springfield I bought was in 1981. A five inch Govt model. Thirty years later I bought the Champion and there is virtually no rattle to the pistol. The tolerances are tight as a drum and in seven days I pumped about 600 rounds of ball and hollow point through it.
In the first 100 the slide failed to come all the way forward a few times but after a second cleaning the next 500 just were eaten up.
These are hard to get, especially at this price, so if you see one available don't wait!
Also, this pistol has the weight in it to keep the barrel on target unlike a lot of the lighter, alloy frame 45 ACP's that scratch, dent and are hard to keep on target when you speed up your shots.
Good shootin!!
